Adults only, with room to say no

ChatmatchCam is for adults aged 18 and older. Be respectful of the person on the other side of the camera. A match is permission to begin a conversation, not permission to demand personal details, record someone, or pressure them into an interaction they do not want.

If you believe a participant may be under 18, end the conversation and use the available report control. Do not ask for private identity documents or continue the interaction to investigate yourself.

Keep the first conversation low stakes

Use a nickname, choose a neutral background, and avoid sharing your home address, employer, daily routine, or financial information. A person who seems friendly is still someone you have just met. Do not send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, passwords, or verification codes to another participant.

Be cautious about requests to move immediately to a different app, sign in through an unfamiliar link, or make a payment outside the platform. A claimed emergency, investment opportunity, or promise of a relationship is not a reason to ignore those boundaries.

Know how to leave

Look for the end or stop control before a conversation becomes uncomfortable. You may leave without an explanation. If the interface stops responding, close the page; then check your browser’s camera indicator and permissions.

Use a report or block option on the relevant conversation or profile when available. Include the approximate time, visible account identifier, and a factual description. Keep evidence private and avoid distributing someone else’s images.

The online chat safety plan puts leaving, keeping incident details, and contacting support in order. For prevention before the next call, use the private video chat checklist.

Understand the limits of privacy

A private 1v1 call is not a guarantee against screen recording. Another person may capture the call or use a second device. Avoid showing anything you would not want copied. Anonymous video chat explains the difference between using a nickname and hiding your identity.

Browser permissions control device access; they do not prove that a person is trustworthy. A profile photo, friendly voice, or polished biography is also not proof of someone’s identity or intentions.

If something goes wrong

For a technical problem, start with camera help. For account, privacy, or payment questions, use contact information and the support route shown in your product session or payment receipt.

If you face an immediate physical danger, leave the online interaction and contact local emergency services. Preserve relevant information for a report without responding to threats or paying someone who is pressuring you.
